I left the house for the third time today since Sunday. We made the trip with 1/4 of Ames to the Dr.
Conveniently I was just there on Monday, on Tuesday thank goodness I had a haircut, because I was in serious need of some "free from kids time", even though they were technically already in bed by the time my appointment rolled around.

Emily had the same symptoms as Dallas, plus an ear infection, which is really rare. Compared to Dallas she has only been to the Dr, in the last two years for scheduled well checkups! Now they get to take turns on the breathing treatments, perhaps Dallas will learn a thing or two.
It has been a busy long week, I am hoping the kids will be well soon!

We have some sickies in the house. Dallas has a little bit of pneumonia and Emily has a croupy cough at night and a runny nose during the day. Dallas is on a host of steroids for his wheezy, tight chest and antibiotic for his infection and ears. We rented another neubulizer machine to do the treatments. This is where I need help, it is a whole different situation since the last time he was on breathing treatments. He is 24 lb of toddler that becomes the worlds strongest man when the time comes around every four hours to breath through "bubbles the fish". Is there any easier way. I kind of restrain his legs in my legs, and do the best I can with keeping his arms and head where I need them to be, but it is almost impossible, I feel like he might not be ending up with any of it in his lungs. Plus we/he inevitable spills the medicine a minute into the treatment when a wild hand gets loose. He doesn't watch TV yet so I can't distract him that way. I would love any suggestions. It is a little easier when Rob is around, meaning, there is more hands to restrain. But I still end up doing it by myself 3-4 times a day. HELP!

Scenes from the kitchen floor...

The first couple of pictures are fuzzy, but it really catches the motion, he was so excited, flailing that chex cereal bag all around, I think it made him thirsty.

Dallas knows where to find the raisins and how to open the box, he likes to put them on the floor more than eat them.

This is his latest form of communication, he still doesn't say much but he is a champion pointer/grunter.

Different day, same outfit, he found a dum dum lolly pop, took it out of the ziplock bag I had it in with the other special travel snacks. He must of remembered it from his haircut. I let him play with it for a while because he was not able to get the wrapper off, 2 minutes later I noticed he gummed through it, tears were shed when I took it away!

Grapefruit

I am sad and secretly delighted. Not everyone can tolerate grapefruit, but I love it. Any place I go that has freshly squeezed grapefruit juice on their menu becomes my favorite. I love it when little pieces of fruit end up in the glass! I miss the days of Osky Band fruit, where my dad would harbor a 10lb box of grapefruit in the basement, and peel them for me, how blessed I was!

I love taking the time to peel the sections out of the fruit, but sometimes I just cut and scoop like most people do. But guess what my kids love the stuff. They hover around me chirping like little birds waiting for a worm. I can't get the stuff out fast enough, and two grapefruits later, I bet I have only had two or three sections total. If I don't section, but scoop I then squeeze the juice into a glass, and that is where the loud chirping really begins. I might have to start eating my grapefruit alone in the closet... and why doesn't Ames High Band solicit me for 10lb of fruit?
