Last days of April review

Hot Cross Buns, my first attempt ever
 Dying eggs
the first mow of the year
Dallas helped me make banana muffins, long live my favorite Pyrex bowl (only the bowl was hurt!)
Picked up new egg cookie cutter, had to try it out
VEISHEA, first stop is always popcorn
 Opened the sandbox
Noelle had a date with Robert (Battle's BBQ), first time sitting in restaurant high chair
VEISHEA, best 'old drummers I know
She is great at sitting now, you have to get her there, but she rarely falls over

Every picture of my kids have them either coughing or with snot coming out of their noses.  Hoping May brings health in this house!

Enjoy, Christ is Risen!

Because it is Easter, and my kids are cute, and it is now three times as hard to get a good photo, and because I sewed, and I can only do the matchy-matchy thing for so long...

Might be asking for a one night hotel stay for my birthday (alone).  I have not slept more that 4 hr, solid in 9-10 months???  The last two nights have been ridiculous for both Rob and I.  Dallas is up with whatever he has, crying in his room, sneaking in our bed, falling in the hallway as he navigates between the two.  Noelle also has something going on, she has had a slight fever for the past 36 hours, and can only manage one good rest each day from 7-10 am.  She was awake from 2:15 am on last night.  She has a stuffy nose too.
My sweet husband held her from 4:30 on, so I could sleep until Dallas climbed in with me again at 5:15 am.  Off to get a DC out the fridge and into the system, and try to be a less grumpy version of me from yesterday!

Edited to add, my sweet husband is just as sleep deprived, but complains a lot less than I do about it, I also think he might be built a little better than I to handle less sleep.  He helps a lot, usually with Dallas, as he doesn't have what Noelle is looking for most times.  Unfortunately Dallas is up almost as much as Noelle.

I am always surprised

I took Dallas to the Dr. today to get his ears checked. He was suffering from the usual symptoms, fever, runny nose, CRABBINESS, and night waking!  While the Dr. was looking at his throat, I surprisingly said, oh! he is cutting teeth.  His 2-top, three year molars were cutting in.  I wonder how often that happens in the Dr. office, do they think I am totally negligent, having a "I just noticed a major milestone moment in front of the Dr.  which may or may not be the cause of all symptoms being suffered!"  We got out without an ear infection, but the left tube is plugged again, so we are going to try to coax it open with some drops.  I did convince them to let Noelle have her flu booster while we were there, saves us an 8:00 am trip on Thursday.

Win-win, and I guess I will keep a watch out for those bottom molars, then my little, big boy will be done getting teeth for a while.

She rolled!

At 7 months 9 days, Noelle rolled from back to tummy!!!! I missed the live version, but I have proof she is sleeping on her stomach for the first time.  I am guessing since she was in the crib, she probably used the rungs and her feet as leverage, as she has never been remotely interested in rolling over while playing on the floor.  Perhpas she was inspired by watching how mobile rolling made her buddy Ben this weekend.

Love this : What's in the Bible? DVD 5 Trailer

Whatt's in the Bible, have you seen this?  From the Veggie Tale creator, it is the Muppet's meets the Old Testiment.  Very funny, I learned much in DVD One, they are releasing DVD Five soon!

10 randoms

Noelle is having an off couple of days, she is slightly feverish, and not sleeping.  She cries every time I put her down, or down to sleep.

The bathtub is currently suffering from ring around the sandbox

It was really windy today, but we still enjoyed every moment outside.  I heard it might snow this weekend!

Dallas is getting lean, he has a six pack, his legs are skinny and baby roll free, the little knuckle dimples are gone from his hands and feet.

Robert is in Detroit

I tried roasting cauliflower and broccoli for the second time this week, I don't get it.  I have read that it is super yummy.  It is good, but not any better than steaming it.  What am I doing wrong, and the lingering cooked broccoli smell I could leave, my house smells like the Webster Elementary lunchroom!

All these warm weather toys take up a lot of room.  I understand now why many family's leave a car in the driveway.  Bikes, trailers, strollers, wagons, race cars.....

Emily did wonderfully in her recital this weekend.  I could see how it would be easy to over schedule kids.  She loved it, I feel like it is a good activity.  How do you weigh that against trying soccer, or UPwards sports at church, add in Awana, a possible music lesson, and we would never be home.

Apparently Bo peed in the same spot all winter, our lawn is proof.

VEISHEA weekend, who wants to guess the weather.  Great friends joining us!!!!

The Apron

I received this pattern Christmas 2009, along with some lovely Amy Butler fabric from the Midwest Modern line.  I love all Amy Butler fabric, if only it was a little cheaper.

It was a perfect gift, as I love to sew.  It is hard for me to get projects done that take longer than naptime.  Fast-forward two years, and I completed it.  This was my first sewn piece from a pattern using that thin tiny brown paper, and directions!  I am a visual learner, so the advent of bloggers putting patterns and pictures on their websites sure does help, and helps me build confidence.  This pattern was my first time tackling pleat.

I like it, I skipped the towel loop on the waistband, as I didn't see using that much.  I wish it was shorter, I must have misread the sizing on that part of the pattern!  Now I need to get cooking in the kitchen!

Eagle watching

Is anyone else watching this?
http://www.raptorresource.org/falcon_cams/index.html

It is a nest cam with three eggs, that are expected to hatch soon/today.  We are rivoted.  We just saw one Eagle land in the next (daddy), and take the egg sitting spot while momma went off to hunt?

We are learning all about Eagles today
