Robert's Birthday
This famous guy is getting sooooo mature.
I kicked off the celebration early because there was a good chance he was not going to be in town on his birth day. Saturday I planned for the family to hit up the Des Moines Farmers Market. They ate ice cream at 10:00 am, I had egg rolls. We bought kettle corn for an afternoon snack, and picked up some fresh gluten free donuts for Lynne. After the market we cruised a couple of car lots (one of Rob's most favorite things to do). I window shop for dogs/puppies and houses, he window shops for cars.
We headed over to Lynne's house. She was going to take the kids swimming in her pool while I took Rob to a birthday movie. We saw 22 Jump Street. It was wildly inappropriate and so funny. I think I laughed at every single line/joke.
Monday-Wednesday the kids and I had a practicum/kids camp to attend all day. We were all pooped at the end of each day. Monday night was when we would find out if Robert was leaving the next morning for his trip -on his birthday. So to be safe, I planned a fun dinner of take out pizza (but fancier than usual, I went with Great Plains).
Turned out he didn't leave. So still had time for one more celebration on Tuesday.
Tuesday night we had many oppoortunites, I had a friend in town to meet up with, and also was invited to a ladies night with some HSing moms, that never panned out. I canceled on my friend, and Rob decided he wanted to go swimming with the kids after we were done at practicum.
We made it swimming 1 hour, and ended up having some friends over that he invited for some hot dogs and pecan pie. It was spur of the moment, but ended up to be a nice way to spend the evening.
Happy Birthday Robert

Donuts, we have a problem with eating them every week. I am considering how much use a donut pan would get in this house.
