Seems Bo is missing his football. We have been outside less this winter than previous winters, anyone can guess why... the bitter cold, little toddler, the crazy wind! Seems he was swinging around the football and tossed it to himself, but it ended up in the tree! Bless him for trying to entertain himself

To answer your question, I do use a soft, iron-on fabric stabilizer (like "stitch witchery") on the inside of the applique. I find it keeps the shirt from stretching, or worse, getting little holes in it from all those tight zigzag stitches.
