Emily drew this for her little friend Blair.  I loved it because it is the first time she has drawn eyelashes on a person.  So Cute!

Ummmm, the Fall Carter's clothing line is completely adorable.  I love this, and wish I had a reason to buy everything!  My mom gave my a coupon for Kohl's, I went hunting for shoes for the little girl in my house that only has sandals that fit, and came home with this for for $3.17!
My kids have a thing for legos.
Noelle and her baby apparently played an early morning game of Uno
This was my view "fieldside" on Saturday night

The fall colors are peaking in Ames, everything is absolutely gorgeous.  I think we might have to do school at Ledges Park sometime this week.
My Lynne, she was my tailgate friend Saturday, we enjoyed some wonderful peach daiquiris.

Noelle is Two!

This amazing little miracle God blessed us with is two.  I can't believe how fast these years flew by, so cliche I know.  She is so funny, has tons of character.  She sleeps well, eats well, and has great skin due to her use of yogurt as lotion.  She loves, loves her green blanket our dear friend Dana made her before she was even born, they have not been apart for one sleep.  Noelle likes to dress up, play kitchen, do "ho ho ho" (run in a circle around the house while being chased", and help herself to snacks of her choice.  She has the most gorgeous dark eyes.  I could stare at them all the time, they have such depth.
She is still on the 30% side of the growth curve, but is growing well.
She loves to cuddle and read her Jesus Loves Me book.  She definitely is a mama's girl, but loves Robert so much.  We love you Noelle Rose!

Put jeans on this girl and she looks real grown up

Can you tell which team we root for?

The summer of paint

This bucket of water and four $0.99 brushes have occupied the kids most of the summer.  Noelle finds the bucket anywhere we hide it in the garage and asks -no demands us to put water in it for her.  They paint and clean the rocks, they paint the bricks and the flower pots.  They get chalk wet and draw on the sidewalk.  They draw on the sidewalk and then use the brushes to blend the colors.  Seriously people.  hours and hours...
This scene happened after we got back from Colorado.  When we were at Red Rocks we saw a lady painting, she had an easel and paints the whole works.  She also had an umbrella she was using to shade herself?  So this is their recreation.  They have the chalk, the bucket of water and brushes all tucked under their umbrellas.  So funny and creative!
So, what has been going on round your parts?  It's all fun, all the time in the Kibbe household lately.

Like today... Dallas remarking from the bathroom " laughing... hmmm, why am I wearing two pairs of underwear, laughing some more"

Again with the underwear:  I laid out clothes for D to wear.  He has me help him with his "seatbelt" to thread it through his "seatbelt loops", I notice he is not wearing the underwear I laid out for him, so I ask him why not "Mom, those are winter underwear, I only can wear them in the winter!"  --what can I say about that?

Emily had a big dental appointment last week.  They needed to fill a small cavity and wanted to do the floride cap/sealent thingys on her permanent molars.  She was super anxious, so they decided breathing in the "grape air" would do her some good.  That stuff makes for a really relaxed kid!  How do I go about getting some installed at home?

Em also had her big six year old well visit today.  Rob was going to take her, so I was making a list of a couple of questions I had, so he could take it along.  I asked Em if she had anything she wanted to ask the Dr., she wanted to know if she was eating healthy enough, so cute!  She is growing well, but might be a little peanut.  She added 3 lbs, and 2 inches to her frame, but is now more along the lines of 25% instead of 50% on the growth curve.  I have noticed that she is one of the shortest about everywhere we go lately.

Emily is doing well in school.  She is typically so shy, and has some serious hangups about the speaking/show and tell portion of school.  After one really bad week, she did so well this week.  I was ready to bribe her with the moon to just get her to stand up in front of everyone, but she did great, and gave a little talk about why zebras were her favorite animals.  Love her!  She is on year two of piano, and we are slowly plowing into lessons.  We are doing a brief but intensive month of gymnastics.  It is our first activity that meets twice a week, and we are only in this session because it was one month long.  It sure is a glimpse of the future, taking kids to and from activities, waiting, planning a fast dinner ahead of time.  Can't believe it will only get busier with time.

Noelle has been a fun handful lately.  She has spent her first couple weeks being two, in and out of time out.  She will look you straight in the face after you scolding her, and tempt fate again.  She will march straight to the timeout stair, if you ask her to go, and she stays put until I come talk to her, so that is a bonus.  I can tell she doesn't really mind being there, so this might not be her form of consequence.  She loves to tell you what she thinks, and her little voice is so cute, it is hard to keep a straight face.  She converses in long sentences now, and I can understand most of what she says.  S's, L's, and C's come out sounding... well, wrongish.
She also can now navigate the steps by herself.  Rob taught her how to slide down the stairs on her bottom, so now she can come down if she really wants.  He of course used a sound effect to make it much more fun when they were learning, so if you hear a "mmmmmmmm-low to high sound" you can run to the stairs and watch her slide down!

In other randomness, we have a 1967 original Mustang for sale if anyone wants to buy it.

We live on a really busy street.  Many joggers/walkers/exercisers stop all hours of the night to stretch or do other things on our corner.  A couple nights ago I though I would have to call 911, I kept watching this guy trying to determine if he was doing some type of yoga stretch on the sidewalk, or he actually needed medical help.

It is starting to feel a little "fallish" around here.  I may have worn, jeans and a cardi the other day, only to be sweating by 4:00 running around town, for some reason it was a really hot 60 degrees!  Guess the sunshine really helps this time of year.

Libraries

We use the library a lot around this place.  Sometimes we are there two to three times a week.  Partly because it is hard to keep Emily in books, and partly because things I reserved have come available and you have to pick them up promptly otherwise they fine you for not picking them up!

The Ames is library is getting a facelift soon, this means 18+ months of having the library in a temporary location, ie. the old Hastings building next to Hobby Lobby.  I am praying it won't smell like pee like the current library.

My one wish for the new remodeled library, besides the smell, is I wish it would have a drive up window to pick up stuff on hold!

Pulmicort

Has anyone read this article?  This is one of the drugs Dallas takes when he is sick or wheezey.  I guess I will ask our ped about growth issue.  I need to look up this study and read it for myself.  You never know which way the media is bending stuff.

Dallas and Robert went to CR

Robert and Dallas went to Cedar Rapids a few weeks ago to help Grandpa Dallas around the house.  Rob came home with some great pictures

Rob loves this place.  Apple fritter and a coffee
 Years of Kibbe license plates
The '57... Rob played chauffeur for a couple getting married
Three generations

We went to Denver to tailgate and watch ISU win!

 Self explainatory
My little tailgate buddy, he was a good snuggler.  Noelle didn't like him sitting in my lap, ever.
We hiked around Red Rocks.  and I guess it was wear stripes day
 Daniel, Josh, Emily and Dallas
Daniel and Dallas are less than a month apart in age and were two crazy peas in a pod this weekend.  CRAZY!  Josh is about half year older then Em.  They played so well together too, they were often off assembling puzzles or playing board games.
Red Rocks amplitheater.  Many locals were working out on the stadium seating.

Guess Rob didn't get the wardrobe memo!
 Climbing the rocks
Posing

a photo catch up

We made a Labor Day robot, It was Em's idea, she wanted a robot that would eat garbage, we read about this in a book.  Rob had the great idea of making it wearable.  Emily and Dallas spent an hour painting it brown.  Em, named it "Emdot" and glued on buttons.
Emily and I on the first day of Classical Conversations, she looked a little grumpy here, but she had fun.
Dallas posing in from of McKinley Middle School in CR (Rob's middle school)

If anyone wants to take Em or Em and Dallas to a show, look up the options and I can get tickets ordered.
How did she end up like this after eating two blue peanut m&m's?
First roadtrip with Noelle and her forward facing carseat.  It is recomended to rear face until the age of two, she is two weeks away from that milestone, and I thought she might enjoy seeing the dvd screen for the 10 hour ride.
 Playing dress up
Getting down the winter gear bin with all the hats and mittens entertained this group for an hour!
