This post is mostly for my sister, as she shares Rob and I's love for movies.
We have been giving netflix a try the last couple of months. We have always been avid movie watchers, and frequent redbox, especially since movies stores are hard to come by in Ames these days. Netflix has been nice since we can get movies in blu-ray, which is awesome to watch on our PlayStation.
Rob set up the netflix account, but put me in charge of filling the queue, and wow am I on a roll, -- insert sarcasm here!
Last movies we have watched or streamed --lesson learned perhaps I should read synopsis instead of just looking at the actors starring
Gigantic - not a comedy as I hoped, weird, really weird we finished, I liked John Goodman's performance the best
LymeLife - really weird, not funny, thought it would be since Alec Baldwin stars, Culkin boys are just weird
Outsourced - pretty good actually, hits home since Robert is continually training his conterpart in India to someday "outsource" his own job
PaperHeart - wow did I miss on this one, I am still not sure whether it was a documentary, a movie, a mockumentary. again, totally weird
We did get Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs inbetween, that was a good flick!

he walked, really walked
I will preface this with the fact that Dallas did take the tiniest little step 2 weeks ago.
Today after nap he full out decided to start walking. I put some socks on him as we were getting ready to go to the gym, I set him down, he ventured out holding my knees, and then walked three-four steps. He sat down, and crawled back and then we repeated this process several times. Then after dinner he really put on a show, I think for Robert. He was walking from furniture pieces to furniture pieces, and to people. Emily gets really excited when he heads her way.
Dallas walked at 15 mo, 3 wks
he is also getting really good at expressing himself and his needs.
He can sign;
more
all done
hat
night, night
thank-you
He also can say, at least I can understand
mama (he says alot, the gym helpers say he says this alot)
dada
mar (more)
nana (banana)
bah! (Bo) he yells this one, he sees me do this alot when I am calling him inside
he also excels at any tractor or car noise
he is starting to repeat anything I say when I am trying to teach him a new word

one, two, three, Oh baby
Three is a nice number, don't you think? We think so, Kibbe #3 is on it's way.
I am 15 weeks pregnant. We heard the heartbeat, on Thursday, a nice stead 160 bpm! The midwife found it right away, which is always a relief, I remember it taking a while with Dallas, there is a tad bit of anxiety that goes with waiting to hear that heartbeat for the first time. She put the "due date" at Sept 11, using our conception date, we are missing some information on my cycle that could give us a more precise date, but I am not too worried about that, babies come when they come.
The midwife also offered us an earlier ultrasound so we could pinpoint the age, but again, I am not too worried, especially if she is not worried, she felt like I was at 15 wk, and that is what we were figuring as well. She broke the news to us that she was no longer going to be on call to deliver. She delivered Emily and I just love her and her bedside manner. All in all there is only a 1 in 4 chance I would get her at delivery again, but she will be missed. I think I will still go to her for some appointments, as well as try to get to know the new Midwife on staff since I had Dallas, that way we are comfortable with everyone.
My next appointment will be in a month and will be the ultrasound appointment, Chelsey is dying for us to find out the sex, but we are leaning towards not knowing.

lists and to dos....
I am really in the mood to Spring clean. It seems futile with the extra dog we have here this week. Today I was hoping to wipe all the baseboards and clean the ceiling fans and catch some cobwebs, but the elusive dog hair x2 will just have to be cleaned out this weekend. It doesn't help matters that our backyard is a sponge, so keeping the dogs outside for a time isn't really a break! I just might get to have the carpets cleaned after this spring is over.
The kids are doing well, they are enjoying the nice weather. Dallas walked up and down the sidewalk with me yesterday with his little push toy. I need to get him some outside shoes pronto! Emily got out her big wheel trike and was delight to see that her feet touched the pedals. She has never had much interest in riding bikes, perhaps it was because her legs were always too short!
Robert put away the Christmas lights yesterday and blew the sand out of the garage. We have green grass in the front and back yards, and lots of missing grass in our parking areas. Do you think the city of Ames will come replace all of the grass they plowed away trying to plow snow. I know if grass is not laid/seeded pronto, the bare spots will be overtaken with weeds.
I miss having tulips in my yard. When we work on the landscaping for the backyard this year, I will "need" to put in some Spring plants, for my sanity. Nothing is nicer than seeing little green tips break through the ground.

the Office childbirth
Rob and I are huge Office fans. We set aside "date" time every Thursday to watch this one show together. Most other tv, besides '24 we are not both equally interested.
If any of you are fans, you'll have watched the last episode when Jim and Pam had their baby. I thought this article from Alpha Mom summerizing the experience was really great. It is worth a read for anyone who likes tv, has had a baby, or tried to breastfeed.
and --that's what she said--

randoms
This will be another post without pictures. I am just too lazy to go downstairs to the desktop computer and load pics, or maybe it is a not so subtle slight to my husband who has had adding my laptop to the server on his to-to list since Christmas.
But he is already over booked, he has become a true entrepreneur, he is officially working three jobs, I think and is just a tad over-extended, but I think he loves it, so no worries. If you don't want to read a post without a fancy picture of Em and her daddy at the Father Daughter dance, skip to the next blog.
here are my randoms.
- I try not to complain about the weather because there is really nothing you can do about it, but I think I was secretly hoping that when waking on March 1 it would be insta-Spring.
- Emily and I have visited three preschools so far, they have all been excellent, but I think homeschooling is still running in first place, I am scared and have doubts that I can even do this
- Em rarely naps these days, but does a great job of spending at least an hour or two in quiet time in her room. Bedtime is actually really unbearable when she does nap, the tantrums and fits are horrible.... no nap and she is out cold by 7:40
- We are pretty sure Dallas can walk, but just chooses not too. He spends 80% of his day turning left doing laps with his push toy around our house, I am thankful we have that type of house design that he can make a loop!
- He is standing a bit longer by himself
- He loves to signal more, and now uses it for things other than food
- Bo is going crazy, he needs a dog-date or for someone to go run him 5 miles. I think he is ready for Spring more than any of us
- Robert and I would love to get away for a three day weekend, but picking a destination and a weekend have been harder than I thought
- I loved watching the Olympics, but really happy regular programming is back
-I am addicted to Etsy, lynne and I are currently working on some stuff for a great party we are throwing and that place is awesome, I can't stop browsing
